Volunteer Overview

About Volunteering
Hospice volunteers are an elite group of people who exemplify the hospice philosophy of neighbor helping neighbor. Regardless of the area you choose for your volunteer work, you will have an important part in helping us to fulfill our mission to provide quality end-of-life care at no expense to the patient, while supporting their family and others in the community who are experiencing grief.  Volunteers are essential to the hospice team. They stand alongside the professionals, creating a caring environment for patients and families.

All hospice programs that participate in Medicare reimbursement per diem are required to provide 5% of their care through volunteers.

Why Volunteer?
  • By giving of yourself and your time, you can have a rewarding experience and make a difference in the life of someone who lives in your community.
  • Volunteering is a win/win situation for everyone. You can increase your circle of friends by getting to know others who are dedicated to public service and enhance your skills of interaction with patients and families.
