Community Bereavement Services
Person-to-Person Support
We are available for counseling, companionship, or conversation whether in person, by phone or postal correspondence. A personal visit request begins with a phone call.
Support Groups
An adult support group is held multiple times per year. We provide a safe and supportive place to share your experiences of loss and learn from each other different ways to cope and heal.
Lunch Bunch
A social group that meets for lunch twice a month to socialize and help heal your grief. Come have lunch with us.
Community and Educational Services
Learn how to navigate this journey of grief through workshops and in-services throughout the year. Some of our topics include “Grief 101, the first three months”, “Coping with the Holidays” and “Creative Mourning”. A library of materials is available to help you understand your feeling of loss and to assist you through your journey with grief.
Annual Memorial Service
A candlelight service is held annually at the Carolyn Renfro Event Center to honor those loved and lost.
Butterfly Wings
Coping with the grief of miscarriage, stillbirth or infant death can be one of the most difficult trials in a person’s life. You do not have to face this journey alone. Our supportive services are a phone call away.
Children’s Services
Children grieve when a family member dies, but their reactions are quite different from adults. Several services are available to help children deal with their grief, including person-to-person support, a holiday support group and “Camp Monarch”. Counselors are available to parents, teachers and others on how to respond to the needs of children.
Memory Quilts
Memory quilt squares are provided to the bereaved families to personalize and remember their loved one. These are sewn into a quilt that is displayed in the Hospice office. This project is open to Hospice families as well as bereaved community families.
Memory Bears
For Hospice of North Central Oklahoma patient families, an article of clothing of the deceased is used to create a Memory Bear. Volunteers refashion the garment into a bear for the families to keep.
