Community Camp Monarch
Children’s Grief Camp
This annual event is held during the summer at the HoNCO offices. The goal of Camp Monarch is to provide an opportunity for children to actively learn ways to cope with their grief after the loss of a loved one. Activities will include team building, crafts, educational sessions, and interactive events, all at no cost. Camp Monarch is open to the community, and prior or current hospice services are not required for attendance.
Children’s Counseling
Our experienced family services team provides children's counseling to families who have lost a loved one. Children's grief counseling offers significant benefits by helping young individuals cope with loss and bereavement. It provides a safe space for children to process their feelings, develop healthy coping mechanisms, and navigate the challenges of grief, ultimately promoting emotional well-being and resilience.
Teen Equine Therapy
New in 2025, we have partnered with New Life Trails to offer equine therapy for teens who have lost a loved one. Equine therapy provides a unique and powerful avenue for healing in grief. The emotional support from animals, particularly horses, combined with the therapeutic environment, presents a multifaceted approach to dealing with loss. This form of therapy can help individuals build emotional resilience, find solace in the presence of these majestic animals, and connect with their emotions in a deep and meaningful way.
